The resort:
MACARONIS RESORT:
A classy surf resort in the Mentawai dedicated to surfers, home to one of the best left-handers in the world, the famous Macaronis, shown in almost every surf flick featuring a section about indonesian waves and more particulary the Mentawai Islands.
Working at all sizes an tides up to a solid 8 feet, it's a high performance wave designed for radical maneuvers and perfect to get long and deep tube rides, truly a world class wave ranked in the Top 5 of the best spots on Earth.
The resort itself provides 4 stars accomodation: the bungalows are by the lagoon, there are webcams allowing the guests to check the surfing conditions at anytime from their TV screens, WIFI internet in all the bungalows, and the speed-boats pick up the guests directly in front of their doors (situated by the lagoon !). The food is 4 stars, with international and indonesian cuisine...a place like no other that surely will have you want to come back again and again.
You also have the possibility to board the INDIES EXPLORER for a few days to split your stay at the resort, and enjoy the full potential of the surf in the Mentawai islands, surfing North (Lance's Right,Lance's Left, Bintangs...just to name a few) and South of the resort (Thunders, Rags Left and Right) some of the best waves of the island chain, a great opportunity not to be missed !

Starts from:
Padang (West Sumatra).
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Padang Airport, transfer to Bungus harbor and boarding AMBU-AMBU ferry in the afternoon, arrival the next morning at the resort, first surf in the area.
Day 2 to day 9 or 16: Surfing Macaronis and the other waves around (Pagai Selatan).
Day 9 or 16: Departure for Padang aboard AMBU-AMBU ferry in the evening, arrival at Bungus harbor the next morning, transfer to Padang Airport by mid-morning to connect with outgoing international flights.
